Feeding Frenzy

Now that Sophie is eating some solids it has made meal times a bit more exciting. Below are videos of her first fruit (bananas) and first vegetable (peas). I'm sure you will have no problem guessing which is which. She has since tried sweet potatoes as well and they went over a lot better than the peas. She never eats a whole lot but seems pretty eager to enjoy this new feeling in her mouth (and on her chin and in her nose). Lest you are concerned, just know that Erik and I completely empathize with her feelings about the peas - we both wanted to gag just from smelling them. We didn't force it for long, but she tried them again a time or two and did much better.

Don't give up on the vegetables. Keep trying...they are so important.

Great videos, Catherine! I've seen that "Pea Face/Sound" many times over the years.

These may be my favorite blog videos yet! That look at the end of the "pea" video is priceless. It looks like she is appealing to the audience to be rescued from this torture. Those videos demonstrate a long-standing truism -- peas, "yuck;" fruit, "yum."
