True Woman Manifesto

This post is for the women out there...in reading one of the blogs I like to follow I came across a campaign by Nancy Leigh DeMoss's ministry "Revive Our Hearts." They have put together a "True Woman Manifesto," described as, "A personal and corporate declaration of belief, consecration, and prayerful intent--to the end that Christ may be exalted and the glory and redeeming love of God may be displayed throughout the whole earth."

Their goal is to have 100,000 women sign the manifesto and begin the "30 Day True Woman Makeover: Join Nancy Leigh DeMoss on a journey through Proverbs 31, 1 Timothy 2:9-10, and Titus 2:1-5. For thirty days, we’ll send this email directly to your inbox, complete with biblical teaching, helpful links, printable downloads, and recommended resources."

At this point there are a little over 2100 names on the Manifesto from several countries. I would encourage you to read over the Manifesto here and if you are in agreement with it click here to sign your name.

I think this is a good opportunity for Christian women to affirm the biblical principles of true womanhood and to bring glory to God by showing we value His Word and His plan for our lives.

Sophie the Puppy

We had our church's Fall Festival on Halloween and Sophie went as her favorite animal - a puppy. The festival is mostly geared toward kids a bit older than Sophie, but she seemed to enjoy seeing everyone and playing a couple of games. Mostly she just enjoyed playing with her good friends Ava, Cate and Riley.

This may seem a bit cruel, but we left the leash at home and it was the only way to keep our sweet puppy from "running" away.

Last week I took Sophie outside for a little photo shoot in her costume. She spent much of her time trying the various flavors of leaves.

She also spent a good deal of time trying to get the head piece of her costume off.

No doubt burying something she hoped to recover at a later date.

Chores w/ Mommy

Now that Sophie is able to get around a bit more she has started helping me out w/ some household chores. Unfortunately she's a little unclear on the laundry concept. She knows you're supposed to take the clothes out of the dryer, but she's just not sure at what point you do this. I frequently find myself putting the same article of clothing in the dryer 5 or 6 times before she gets it, but I definitely appreciate her helpful spirit.

She has also started becoming more interested in the grocery shopping process. When I shop on weekends she helps unload the groceries, then likes to take a swing in the shopping bag.

Finally, after a long hard day of housework, she likes to settle down for some Family Fun w/ Mommy.

Gymboree

A few weeks ago Erik and I took Sophie to Gymboree for a free class. We went through an obstacle course, played with bubbles, had some fun w/ a parachute, and sang lots of songs (all of which had the same tune). Sophie seemed to really enjoy herself and Erik and I enjoyed playing with her.
