Fun w/ Pops & Gigi

A few weeks ago Erik's parents came up to hang out w/ Sophie because Erik and I were involved in a conference at church. Sophie loved seeing her Pops and Gigi and they had some good play time. This was the first time Sophie has gotten emotional when her grandparents left...it was pretty sad for all involved.

Sophie and Pops playing w/ some toys.

Here Sophie is modeling her Epcot shirt. This was mine when I was little and she had been carrying it around the house for a couple of days so she brought it to me and I put it on her. She was thrilled to be so cool and retro.

This is right before Pops & Gigi left...Sophie was not too happy to see them go, but she tried to put on a brave (and slightly disgusted) face.

With my Valentine :)

Catching up...once again

Here are some pictures from January:

Pasta meals are a bit treacherous...Sophie decorated her face one night to greet Daddy when he got home from work.

During a recent nap I went in Sophie's room and she was sleeping in the "booty-up" position.

One day we went to the grocery store and Sophie became obsessed w/ a bag of frozen broccoli, so later that night we used it to entice her to walk (which she is now a pro at).

Victory!

Modeling her church clothes and her princess car.

We're so thankful for our precious 16-month-old. She is now walking, talking non-stop, singing, smiling, and growing into a beautiful little girl.

Strode Family Christmas

So I guess it's about time I posted the other Christmas pics. In early Jan. we went to VA to celebrate with my family. We don't all get to see each other very often, so it was great to be together for a few days. We had a great time and shared lots of laughs.

Aaron, Laura, Tom, Linda, Sophie, Cath & Erik

Sophie opening her Nintendog. She quickly learned that he will bark and pant and play with her if she pats his head. Well, patting turned to hitting, and she has transferred that to any animal she sees...so watch out Minxy-cat.

Giggles w/ Gran & Papa

We went bowling one day...this face doesn't show it, but Erik was the big winner.

And I'm not sure what this face shows...this is my sister-in-law, ladies and gentlemen.

And now you know why she's such a great match for my brother.

Finally, this is me w/ my best friend, Lark, who drove up from NC to see us and meet Sophie. It was great to see you, Quita. Lovies :)
