Finally Up & Running

The "up & running" part of the title is meant to indicate the blog only - the thought of me running anywhere is completely inconceivable at this point, but then it was pretty inconceivable before I was pregnant also. Yes, finally we are starting the blog we planned to start 3 months ago when Sophie was still tiny and cuddly and sleepy. She celebrated her 3 month birthday on Monday ("celebrated" meaning I said "Happy 3 Month Birthday, Sophie!" and we went on with our day) and is doing well. We don't know exactly how long she is or how much she weighs - we'll find out more in another month. We do know that on Jan. 4 she was over 12 lbs and 23.5 inches long. It seems so crazy that people actually deliver babies her size...I cannot imagine that at all. I'll take a 7 pounder anyday.

So the purpose of this blog is just to keep people (family mostly - not sure anyone else will care that much) up-to-date on Sophie's life (and occasionally mine and Erik's, but let's be honest - our lives revolve around her at this point in time). I will try to post a new picture or video most days, but I don't want to make any promises. For now, just please enjoy this new video of Sophie playing with her new crib mirror. Unfortunately by this point in time she was pretty tired and was getting exhasperated with her paparazzo mother, but at least you can hear her sweet voice.

Thank you for starting the blog! Sophie is so precious and I loved hearing her sweet voice (and yours too Catherine). Of course these are the things that you would expect a grandmother to say and I will gladly succomb to any comments directed toward me of being predjudiced!

Love, Gran

(Sorry I didn't check what I wrote before I posted - I meant prejudiced.)

So far I have watched the "Sophie" video 3 times and it is my favorite movie EVER! (Even better than Coal Miner's Daughter!) The dialogue is incredible and should win an Oscar for "Best Sound." Give her many kisses for me!
Love, Gigi or Grammy or Ya-ya (I'm still debating)
