Sophie the Singer

Sophie went to her first choir practice last night. I hoped she might just sleep through it since Erik couldn't be there to help out with her due to another commitment. She had other ideas, however. For the first part she just stared wide eyed at me sucked on her paci. After awhile, however, she got up her courage and started to sing along. Unfortunately she can't yet read music and continued to sing when the music had stopped (our choir director mentioned something about giving her a solo and I think she ran with it). So we have discovered a new talent and I'm looking forward to bringing her again next week so she can show off a bit more. See exhibit A to the right - Sophie's singing form.

In other news she is still having some tummy issues, so that is a matter for prayer. Thankfully it doesn't keep her from being super happy most of the time. These days she is playing with her hands a lot and drooling more than ever. As you can see in this picture, her eyes are still looking blue and some of her hair is reddish, but mostly it's pretty brown. Erik is holding out hope for the blond to come in, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Mostly she is just pretty sweet and so fun to be around. We are truly blessed.

cath, you rock in a big way for blogging. i love it so much...i feel like i could read a book about sophie...oh hey, maybe you SHOULD start writing your first book...you could base it loosely on sophie's life (feel free to add extra things that make her sound even more amazing than she is...this is a practice well-known to me called exaggeration...). anyway, thanks for the updates...we're still praying for her tummy and your patience. love love love you.
