Use Your Imagination

Sophie rolled over yesterday...or so I think. I put her down on her tummy in her crib while I was just in the next room for a few minutes. I was listening to her grunt and groan and then suddenly it sounded different and I look and she was on her back. I have been waiting for this moment with my camera ready for days and she goes and does it when I'm not looking. Of course she wouldn't recreate it for me, so I post this video with the hopes that you can imagine what it would be like if she just groaned her way over onto her back. We will keep working on this.

A couple of days ago she started laughing a bit when Erik was home for lunch. Of course one tiny laugh from her made Erik and I giggle like school girls. Hopefully I'll be able to capture that on video soon.

She is really REALLY into sucking on her hands now. We have tried taking them out and putting her paci in, but she is quite determined. At times she manages to get both the fist and the paci in there, and even prefers it occasionally when she's eating. The pictures below demonstrate her fist-sucking prowess. A friend told me it was probably okay unless she starts to become attached to one particular finger (or thumb!). I figure at this point it's pretty harmless because no 7-year-old is going to go around with their whole fist in their mouth...or so I hope.

Thanks for the new video -- and the text to boot! Gran and I enjoyed hearing her sweet sounds so much. It was a fun activity for a Friday night. Thank you for sharing the life and times of Sophie Parks with us. Give her our love.

It is so fun to hear Sophie talk! And we can see how she could turn over, easy as a breeze. She's so strong. And don't worry that she can put both fists and her pacifier in her mouth AT THE SAME TIME--she "is woman, hear me roar!"
Thanks for feeding our Sophie frenzy.
kisses & squeezes, Pops and Gigi
